Eliezer, The Holy Spirit and Victory With 318 Men of God

In Genesis 24 we see a clear picture of Abraham as God the Father sending His eldest servant, who’s name is NOT mentioned in the entire chapter but we can safely assume is Eliezer, as being a type of the Holy Spirit to get a bride for Issac, the son, a type of Jesus

Eliezer is NOT named here because as Jesus said

John 16:13-15 KJV
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for HE SHALL NOT SPEAK Of HIMSELF; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The Holy Spirit comes representing God the Father and Jesus His Son and what concerns them, drawing little attention to Himself. Abraham told him God’s angel would go before him in verse 7 and we are reminded in verse 40

Abraham has told Eliezer to seek a wife for Issac from his kindred, relatives living away from them.

Abraham warns Eliezer NOT to bring Issac back there

Genesis 24:6 KJV
And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.

The Holy Spirit is seeking and preparing the bride of Christ. When Jesus does set foot on this Earth again it will be “Earth Shaking”. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Zechariah+14&version=NKJV

But Eliezer doesn’t go into town and ask for info on where relatives of Abraham live. No, he expresses Faith. He pulls a Gideon and lays out a fleece.

Eliezer prays this prayer,
Genesis 24:14 KJV
And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and She SHALL SAY, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be She That THOU Hast Appointed For THY Servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.

Eliezer makes the 1st move by asking for water that he can drink. But he is fishing for the right response. Will the woman do ONLY what is asked “the letter of the law” or will she follow the leading of the Holy Spirit? Rebekah has a sensitive heart knowing if the man is thirsty, his camels probably are too.

How many times in our lives are we presented by an agent of God, with the opportunity to give the right response and be a blessing to them and so unto God.

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
Matthew 25:37‭-‬40 NKJV

We never know when a homeless person with that sign asking for help might not be a test of our compassion and generosity to someone in need.

Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.                       Hebrews 13:1‭-‬2 NKJV

The longest chapter in Genesis has 67 verses to tell a single story and paint an important picture of the work of the Holy Spirit seeking a bride for Christ and what she should look like.

Eliezer takes a half shekel ear ring (verse 7) and put’s it in Rebekah’s nose (verse 40). Later we are told a half shekel is the ransom price every soul must pay (Ex. 30:12-15). At some point, it will cost you something to take a stand as a Christian. It was in the nostrils of Adam God breathed His Spirit of life into him (Gen. 2:7). That’s what “surely died” that terrible day in the garden, (Gen. 2:17). That’s why everyone MUST BE Born Again with God’s Spirit.

I think Eliezer the servant of Abraham has shown up in a type of the Holy Spirit before. This other time it was in the Power of the Spirit but again incognito.

Romans 15:13 KJV
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the POWER of the Holy Ghost.

Back in Genesis 14, Abraham’s nephew Lot has been taken captive by the forces of 4 kings who have overpowered the forces of 5 kings.

5 to 4

In this miraculous story,
Genesis 14:14 KJV
And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants , born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen (318), and pursued them unto Dan.

Abraham and 318

15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

Abraham chases them from the Dead Sea to Damascus. That’s about 140 miles, one way!

I ‘ve wondered many times why we are given the exact number, 318.

I can safely say as before, Eliezer has shown himself to act as a type of the Holy Spirit. You might be surprised to know that
Eliezer is Strong’s H-461 and means God is (of) help.

Jesus said He must leave the Earth to send back the Holy Spirit, the “Helper, Advocate, Comforter” (John 16:7)

After much searching I found out that Eliezer is one of only 66 Hebrew words in the entire Bible that has a gematria value of 318. There is No Hebrew word for “coincidence”.  Everything is “an act of God”

318 Eliezer

Abraham, a type of God the Father goes out to battle against such forces with 318 servants, but they are born in His House, (shadow of being Born Again, and Spirit Filled).

And if all this were not enough of types and shadows of God the Father and the Holy Spirit, Jesus surely can’t be left out in all this and he isn’t. On the way back from Damascus with all the spoils of victory who is waiting to Bless Abraham in the Name of the  “Most High God” but His priest

18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said:

“Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
20 And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”

And he gave him a tithe of all.      Genesis 14:18-20

King of Salem

The word “Hebrew” is first used in the Bible,

Genesis 14:13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the “Hebrew”

It is fitting that “Hebrews 7” says this,

The King of Righteousness

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” 3  without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.

Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils. And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham; but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives. Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, 10 for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.

Need for a New Priesthood

11 Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron? 12 For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. 13 For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at the altar.

14 For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood. 15 And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest 16 who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life. 17 For He testifies:

“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”

18 For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, 19 for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

Greatness of the New Priest

20 And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath 21 (for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him:

“The Lord has sworn
And will not relent,
‘You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek’ ”),

22 by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.

23 Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing. 24 But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself28 For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.

I knew something was up with my birthday. At the same time covid 19 struck. Also jesus died and rose in the month of March. It’s called the nison, abib. Some paster please explain this for me, am I one of God’s chosen?

    1. Aaron I can’t explain what is happening to you but there are things you need to pay attention to. Just because you “think the spirit has left” doesn’t mean it has. Were you seeking Father God through the finished work of Jesus on the cross? That’s important. The only way to The Father is through The Son, His Only Begotten Son. Jesus will send The Holy Spirit to His own.
I had an experience in church when I first became a “Born Again with God’s Spirit” Christian. My left ear felt like it was being warmed by something. After a couple times it stopped. When I left church my taste for music instantly changed. I hungered for praise and worship music and sermons.
Is your experience drawing you to seek, praise and worship Father God and Jesus more? Are you overwhelmed at times with a grateful heart for what God is doing for you.
Mainly, seek God with all your heart. He has the answers. He may place people in your path that will directly answer specific questions you bring to Him. At times you may hear a voice in your mind as a very clear thought. God can read your minds thoughts, satan can’t. Satan can plant thoughts so you have to learn to descern where your thoughts are coming from.
God through the Holy Spirit will lead you away from sin and to a life that will please The Father.
In all this I’m saying look for the fruit of your actions and attitude. Expect satan to try to distract you. Learn the Word of God for yourself. You need to know what it says. If you are a new Christian God understands the stage of growth you are in.
An apple, whether it is pea size, golf ball size or softball size is “perfect” at that stage of growth.
If you fall, ask God for forgiveness and get back up.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to be with you and to empower you to live a life that pleases God.
Forget those things in your life that are behind you now but don’t forget the consequences of them. Keep the lesson, leave behind the shame and guilt. Forgive yourself, God has if you sincerely asked Him to.
Pray Psalm 51 and learn what it’s about.
