Cutting A Deal With God, The Abrahamic, Mosaic and New Covenants

Origin of the phrase, “Cutting A Deal”

For some reason I don’t fully understand yet, a set of scriptures that I wrote a text about recently keeps popping up in videos. In a few videos where different people speaking of Ron Wyatt’s discovery of the Ark of the Covenant and in Genevieve Brazel’s recent post a week ago had them.

1 John 5:1-8 KJVS
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever Is Born of God OVERCOMETH the world: and this is the victory that OVERCOMETH the world, Even Our Faith.
5 Who is he that OVERCOMETH the world, but he That Believeth that Jesus is THE Son of God?
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Father, Word & Holy Ghost = Are 1
Spirit, Water & Blood = Agree In 1
Born of God (Born Again), Living a Life of Faith in God & Believe Jesus Is the Son of God = Become 1 with God, in Him, Christ Jesus

The 3’s of the following scriptures of Genesis 15 captured my attention and have had me searching for everything I can find about their relation to those in 1 John.

Speaking of Abraham,
Genesis 15:6-18 KJVS
6 And he believed in the Lord ; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
7 And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
8 And he said, Lord God , whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
9 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer (1) of three years old, and a she goat (2) of three years old, and a ram (3) of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
10 And he took unto him all these (3), and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
18 In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Hundreds of years before God gave Moses the instructions of the Tabernacle and the offerings used in it, God tells Abraham to cut in half the very animals who’s body and blood will be accepted.

In the Abrahamic Covenant of Genesis 15 the animals must be 3 years old but throughout Leviticus ONLY 1 year old animals are acceptable. Most commentaries say the 3 year old is relating to their full grown strength and Jesus being offered as our blood sacrifice at 33 years old, in His prime of life.

The prophet Jeremiah referred to a covenant Israel broke with God when they set free their Hebrew brothers and sisters after the 6th year as bondservants. After setting them free they gathered them back and made them bondservants again angering God.

Jeremiah 34:18-19 KJVS
18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,
19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;

This year December 18, 2018 is the 10th of Tevet on the Hebrew calendar. It commemorates the day Babylon laid siege to Jerusalem, what Jeremiah told them God would use to punish breaking covenant with Him. About 18 months later the Tabernacle of God was destroyed on the 9th of Av.

In a  “Cutting A Deal” Covenant the animals are cut in two and laid out so the parties of the covenant are to walk between the pieces. It is to say, “If I break this covenant, may I be cut in two like these animals we are walking between”.

For Abraham, God put him in a deep sleep. Only God, represented by the smoking furnace and burning lamp, passed between the pieces. God ALONE was responsible for keeping this covenant.

In the Mosaic covenant, animals were brought to the priests. The offerer killed his animal and the priest caught the blood in a vessel to pour out at the altar.

In the New covenant we have with God through Jesus we No Longer bring animals to be killed for their blood. The Blood of Jesus put an end to that.

I have found in scripture that Jesus didn’t come to “lower the bar” concerning the 10 Commandments but He actually raised it. In the Mosaic covenant thoughts of sin are not as fully exposed as sin until Jesus spoke these words,

Matthew 5:21-22,27-28 KJVS
21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That Whosoever Is ANGRY with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and Whosoever Shall SAY to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but Whosoever Shall SAY, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That Whosoever LOOKETH on a woman to lust after her HATH Committed adultery With her ALREADY in his heart.

In Jesus own words He says to follow Him we must be willing to DENY Ourselves, NOT have a wish list of everything under the sun to make OUR Life the Most Comfortable

Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Matthew 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Paul wrote 28% of the words and half of the books of the New Covenant, yes we are in a “Covenant Relationship” with God through Jesus, the ONE AND ONLY Mediator of it.

Hebrews 8:6 KJVS
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is The Mediator of A BETTER Covenant, which was established upon better promises.

1 Timothy 2:5 KJVS
For there is one God, and ONE MEDIATOR between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Now to the question, are any flesh and blood sacrifices to be offered to God on the altar in the New Covenant? A resounding YES!!!

Paul says so here,
Romans 12:1 KJVS
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye Present Your Bodies A Living Sacrifice, HOLY, Acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 Corinthians 4:10-11 KJVS
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

Jesus says we should deny our selfish desires for more and more to use on ourselves. Paul says that as we die to self as Jesus did, Jesus can be made “manifest in our body, mortal flesh”

John the baptist said it this way,
John 3:30 KJVS
He must increase, but I must decrease.

If we truly desire a closer walk with God, we have to walk with Him, on His terms, He Is God. That means offering ourself on His altar.

Many people that say they are Christians put only small parts of themselves on the altar. Maybe God has their attention 2 hours a week for church. Or now and then looking at scripture. On the “holy” part, they try to not do the blasphemous sins but overlooking those more accepted by society, “everybody does it”

If we REALLY Desire a closer walk with God and His Spirit working in and through our life we need to stop holding back compartments of it from being on His Altar.

My personal relationship with God took a leap forward when I decided to ask God, “show me everything in my life and heart that is not pleasing to You. I want your anointing in and on my life enough to do it Your way. My way doesn’t work”

I wanted to know that if I prayed to God for my children, grandchildren or friends that He would at least Hear My Prayer. There are many prayers God refuses to listen to because christians refuse to mature.

You let your toddler get away with things you would never put up with in an adolescent and even less with a young adult. God is No Different

God is No Different. A loving parent and God corrects their children. They Will Not Reward bad behavior or increase liberties or responsibilities to an undedicated or unreliable person.

I’ve listen to many of Richard Owen Roberts sermons on revival. A common dam in the river of revival is lack of commitment to God and Willful sin. He would tell preachers seeking revival in their church to go before God with paper an pen. Ask God to show them what was hindering His Anointing in their ministry. He said often they would fill notebooks with writing of things God saw wrong or required of them.

Beyond the 10 commandments, God does not beat us over the head and say “do this, not that” throughout our life. He waits for us to come to Him and ask for help.

God will Not force us to set quality time apart with Him. If we desire a closer walk with God we must be prepared to put more of our life on the altar.

It wasn’t until Elijah did this that the Fire of God Fell
1 Kings 18:30 KJVS
And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. (Church Christians don’t even have an altar to repair)

1 Kings 18:33 KJVS
And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, (For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12)

1 Kings 18:36-38 KJVS
36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
37 Hear me, O Lord , hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

How bad do you want the Anointing of God in your life and power of God in your prayers. When your loved one desperately needs a touch from God in answered pray is anything worth stopping up God’s ears.

John 9:31 KJVS
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

Tons of scriptures confirm this principle of God hearing as He Pleases

Finally, the signs are everywhere, we are at the end of the “Age of Grace”. The Sanhedrin in Israel is preparing to build the second temple. They will be offering sacrifices soon on a mock altar. When asked about the Ark of the Covenant for the Third Temple they reply “that’s taken care of”.

I understand how the scriptures of 1 John 5;1-8 relate to the Blood Covenant’s. Jesus’ Blood and Water shed on Calvary are STILL at Work,

1 John 5:8 KJVS
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

The Third Temple, The Sanhedrin in Israel

The Rapture Short Clip, Will You Be Ready?

Don’t be like the silent people of God when Elijah confronted Israel concerning worship of Baal and God, one foot in the church and one foot in the world,

And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people Answered Him NOT A Word.
