This week the MyDailyBible app readings from the prophets has been from Nahum. Today it was Nahum chapter 3 which starts with a heading saying “Woe to Nineveh.” The book of Nahum is all about God’s anger and judgment against Nineveh. Chapter 1, verse 1 says, “The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of NaHum the Elkoshite.”
The last 2 verses of the book of Nahum ends with these words,
Nahum 3:18-19
Your shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria;
Your nobles rest in the dust.
Your people are scattered on the mountains,
And no one gathers them.
19 Your injury has no healing,
Your wound is severe.
All who hear news of you
Will clap their hands over you,
For upon whom has not your wickedness passed continually?
If you weren’t aware of it, Nineveh was the capital city of Assyria. Assyria was the empire that God allowed to bring a “full end” to the nation of Israel during the reign of Hoshea. Assyria’s practise was to scatter it’s captives throughout its territories to avoid uprisings. Since that time they have been known as the “Lost 10 Tribes.” God had warned Israel at the time of the Exodus of following His ways,
Leviticus 18:24-28 ‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. 25 For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. 26 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you 27 (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you.
In its heyday, Assyria had grown to be a powerful kingdom. Notice the area of Judah is shaded in a different color because Assyria didn’t conquer it. Pretty amazing!!! Later Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar did though.

In 732 BC, the kingdom of Damascus lost its independence and was carved up into Assyrian provinces. At that time Israel was allowed to survive but Tiglath-pileser put it under the rule of a new king, Hoshea was but a vassal of Assyrian interests. Substantial parts of the Israelite population were resettled elsewhere in the Assyrian Empire after the fall of Samaria in 722 BC. They are the “lost tribes of Israel” of the Bible:
2 Kings 17:5-8 Now the king of Assyria went throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria and besieged it for three years. 6 In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria took Samaria and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah and by the Habor, the River of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes. 7 For so it was that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and they had feared other gods, 8 and had walked in the statutes of the nations whom the Lord had cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
Assyria had an opportunity and season of repentance offered to it by an unwilling prophet named Jonah. The way Assyria treated Israel was the reason why Jonah didn’t want to go.

What’s not mentioned in the book of Jonah but is recorded in Assyria’s historical record and is known to NASA and modern astronomers is that prior to Jonah’s visit a solar eclipse occurred.
Solar eclipses are very targeted events in a way. From a single location on the earth, the sun is totally eclipsed for just a few minutes at most (the maximum possible duration is just about 7 minutes). In those days they were “scary” events but in our modern times, not so much.
Amos 8:8-9 Shall the land not tremble for this, And everyone mourn who dwells in it? All of it shall swell like the River, Heave and subside Like the River of Egypt. 9 “And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord God, “That I will make the sun go down at noon, And I will darken the earth in broad daylight;

Assyrians regarded plagues and eclipses as divine signs of judgment for the whole land. A recorded plague of 765, followed by a revolt, then an eclipse in 763 and then revolts in the following four years served to confirm in their mind God’s displeasure. Could Assyria’s “year of peace” in 758 and the recorded lack of rebellions and plagues in the next 11 years be a consequence of God’s mercy because of their repentance as a nation. Could this date Jonah’s appearance at Nineveh about 759 or 758 BC.

While studying these events out this morning a thought came to mind. “Could these ties to solar eclipses being taken as a warning from God have something to do with the Great American Eclipse that occurred a few years ago. Better than that, could these 2 Great American Eclipses have a tie to this years presidential election. In case you’ve forgotten about it, this pic shows what’s so “Great” about it. By the way, the X (the maximum possible duration of just about 7 minutes) centers almost directly over the New Madrid Fault zone.

I made a few calculations concerning those 2 dates and found this,

2422 divided by 2 equals 1211. This number can give us the “Center Date.” These are screenshots from an online date calculator.

Well it looks like our “Center Date” falls on December 14, 2020. Maybe you are saying “so what” and Dec. 14th 2020 hasn’t rang a bell in your mind.
Dec. 14, 2020: Meeting of the Electors. The electors meet in each state and cast their ballots for president and vice president. Each elector votes on his or her own ballot and signs it. The ballots are immediately transmitted to various people: one copy goes to the president of the U.S. Senate (who is also the vice president of the United States); this is the copy that will be officially counted later. Other copies go to the state’s secretary of state, the National Archives and Records Administration, and the presiding judge in the district where the electors meet.
Maybe that might be just a “coincidence” you might say. Personally, I don’t believe in them and I’ve mentioned in in my blog on a number of occasions. One was recently in a post titled “Coincidence? I Think Not.” In it I mentioned 2 more interesting dates concerning the 2020 presidential election on November 3rd and the day the electors cast their vote on December 14th. These two dates “just so happens” to fall on 2 significant dates of this years Hebrew calendar.

In that post I wrote,
As you can see it’s November the 4th, the day after our election day. Will we know who won the election when we wake up on the “Morning After” election day? I don’t know but God knows!!!
Lets throw one more 40 into the mix of “coincidences.” 40 days after November 4th, on the 17th day of the 2nd month of the original Hebrew calendar (before Exodus) is December 14th. What’s important about December 14th you might ask? It’s the day the electoral college will cast their votes to elect the 46th president of the United States of America. Noah’s ark went through 40 days and nights of dark stormy rains. Enough to flood the entire earth combined with the fountains of the deep God opened.
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
We know it rained and flooded for 40 days and nights for Noah’s flood. If it would have happened this year it would have ended on December 14th. The rain and storms may have stopped on that day but the flood didn’t begin to subside for 150 days.
Genesis 8:4 Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.
Later in Israel’s history, at the Exodus, God changed His Calendar and made the original 7th month of Nissan to now be the 1st. Passover – Jesus’ crucifixion falls on Nissan 14 making the day Noah’s Ark rested on Mount Ararat on Nissan 17 Resurrection Day!!!!!!!!!!!! Does God Care About the Days of His Calendar? You bet He Does!!!!!!
Today December 5th 2020 we still don’t know for sure what will be the “honest” outcome of this election. I have doubts we will know on Dec. 14th. One things for sure. The outcome will be of no surprise to Father God.
It would seem God likes certain numbers more than others because of how and how often they appear in the Word of God. One on the top on that list is the number 7, as in the maximum possible duration of viewing a solar eclipse being about 7 minutes.
One last mention. On inauguration day, January 20, 2017, Donald Trump was 70 years, 7 months and 7 days old, 777. I think that’s pretty interesting too!!!!!

P.S. – Dec. 6, 2020, Today I learned that there will be a Total Solar Eclipse on ……….. you guessed it, December 14, 2020 viewable only from South America. I will be centered over the land mass which is still remarkable considering it could have happened over an ocean somewhere so practically no one would have seen it. Maximum Eclipse will occur over Chile and Argentina at 10:13:28 am my CST time zone. Some of the eclipse will happen over the oceans because the CST beginning and ending times are 7:35 am until 12:53 pm. Total Solar Eclipses are not an everyday occurance. The next one will not happen until December 4, 2021.
